Awards for Ornamental Fish and Aquaculture entrepreneurs in appreciation of their services to the industry at “Min Visithuru” 2016 

His Excellency Maithripala Sirisena, President of the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka presented awards for the Entrepreneurs in Ornamental Fish and Coastal Aquaculture industry in appreciation of their services to the industry at “Min Visithuru” 2016.

Award Receivers

• Puttalam District Ornamental Fish and Aquatic Plant Entrepreneur’s Rural Fisheries Organization as the the Best Ornamental Fish Farmer’s Association of Sri Lanka in  appreciation of the contribution made for the development of ornamental fish farming in the District.


• The Association of Live Tropical Fish Exporters of Sri Lanka, in appreciation of the contribution made for the national economy, earning foreign exchange through export of Ornamental Fish.


• Sri Lanka Aquaculture Development Alliance, in appreciation of the support provided for rehabilitation of the shrimp farming industry in North- Western Province.


• Oceanpick (Pvt) Ltd, the pioneers of commercial mariculture in Sri Lanka.


• Hayleys Aquagri (Pvt) Ltd, the pioneers of commercial Seaweed farming in Sri Lanka.
