Awareness programmes on Inland Fisheries and Ornamental Fish Industry in celebrating the World Fisheries Day - 2022
The Ministry of Fisheries and the State Ministry of Fisheries are working to organize a Fisheries Week on the occasion of World Fisheries Day - 2022. Along with the series of programs, an awareness programmes on Inland Fisheries and Ornamental Fish industry was held on November 17, 2022 at the Divisional Secretariat, Beruwala in order to develop the Inland Fisheries and Ornamental Fish Industry.
Mr. A.R. Mudalige, Fish Genetic Specialist of Sri Lanka National Aquaculture Development Authority was aware the participant on selection of broodstock and management of broodstock for quality ornamental fish production. Mr. K.D. Sanjeewa, District Aquaculture Extension Officer, Matara was also aware on implementation, empowerment and management of fisheries societies in order to increase the Inland fish production.
About 150 people who are involved in the inland fisheries and ornamental fish industry in Kalutara district were participated for these two awareness programmes.

ලෝක ධීවර දිනය - 2022 නිමිත්තෙන් ධීවර සතියක් පැවැත්වීමට ධීවර අමාත්‍යාංශය හා ධීවර රාජ්‍ය අමාත්‍යාංශය කටයුතු කරමින් ඇත.
එම වැඩසටහන් මාලාවට සමගාමීව මිරිදිය මත්ස්‍ය හා විසිතුරු මත්ස්‍ය කර්මාන්තය සංවර්ධනය සඳහා මිරිදිය මත්ස්‍ය හා විසිතුරු මත්ස්‍ය
කර්මාන්තය පිළිබඳ දැනුවත් කිරීමේ වැඩසටහන් 2022 නොවැම්බර් මස 17 වන දින බේරුවල ප්‍රදේශීය ලේකම් කාර්යාලයේ දී පැවැත්විය.
එහිදී ගුණාත්මක විසිතුරු මත්ස්‍ය නිෂ්පාදනයක් උදෙසා මව් මසුන් තෝරා ගැනීම හා මව් මත්ස්‍ය කළමණාකරනය සම්බන්ධව ශ්‍රී ලංකා ජාතික ජලජීවී වගා සංවර්ධන අධිකාරියේ මත්ස්‍ය ජාන විශේෂඥ ඒ.ආර්. මුදලිගේ මහතා විසින් විස්තරාත්මක දැනුවත් කරන ලද අතර ශ්‍රී ලංකා ජාතික
ජලජීවී වගා සංවර්ධන අධිකාරියේ මාතර දිස්ත්‍රික් ජලජීවී වගා ව්‍යාප්ති නිලධාරී කේ.ඩී. සංජීව මහතා විසින් මිරිදිය මත්ස්‍ය හා ජලජීවී නිෂ්පාදනය ඉහල නැංවීම සදහා මිරිදිය ධීවර සමිති ක්‍රියාත්මක කිරිම, බල ගැන්වීම හා කළමණාකරනය පිළිබද දැනුවත් කරන ලදි.
මෙම දැනුවත් කිරීමේ වැඩසටහන් සදහා කළුතර දිස්ත්‍රික්කයේ මිරිදිය මත්ස්‍ය හා විසිතුරු මත්ස්‍ය කර්මාන්තයේ නියලෙන්නන් 150ක් පමණ සහභාගී විය.
