Livelihood Development Programme-Matara District

NAQDA has planned to commenced 3300 projects under the Full pledged Household economy development programs for Samurdi & Low income families together with Samurdhi Department. Under this, Matara District Livelihood Development Programme was commenced on 10^th October 2021 with the participation of Hon. Mahinda Yapa Abeywardana, Speaker of the Parliament, Hon. Dullas Alahapperuma, Minister of Media, Hon. Kanchana Wijesekera - State Minister of Ornamental Fish, Inland Fish & Prawn Farming, Fishery Harbour Development, Multi day Fishing Activities and Fish Exports, Members of Parliament, Mr. Jayantha Wijeratne – Chairman NAQDA and Government Officials. Under this programme, 1^st installment funds released to 188 beneficiaries to commence ornamental fish farming, 26 beneficiaries to commence improvement of ornamental fish farms, 43 beneficiaries to commence pond fish & cage farming, 03 beneficiaries to improvement of Ornamental fish aquariums and 01 beneficiary to commence fish feed production unit.
