Livelihood Development Programme-Polonnaruwa District

NAQDA has planned to commenced 3300 projects under the Full pledged Household economy development programs for Samurdi & Low income families together with Samurdhi Department. Under this, Polonnaruwa District Livelihood Development Programme was commenced on 9^th October 2021 with the participation of Hon. Kanchana Wijesekera - State Minister of Ornamental Fish, Inland Fish & Prawn Farming, Fishery Harbour Development, Multi day Fishing Activities and Fish Exports, Hon. Roshan Ranasinghe - State Minister of Provincial Councils & Local Government, Members of Parliament, Mr. Jayantha Wijeratne – Chairman NAQDA and Government Officials. Under this programme, 1^st installment funds released to 282 beneficiaries to commence ornamental fish farming, 15 beneficiaries to commence improvement of ornamental fish farms, 08 beneficiaries to commence pond fish farming, 03 beneficiaries to commence smoked fish production and 01 beneficiary to commence fish feed production unit.
