Meeting to discuss the current situation in the Shrimp industry

A meeting was held at the National Aquaculture Development Authority on 09.06.2020 to discuss the current situation in the Shrimp industry, issues and to make necessary decisions to overcome the ill-fated created by Covid 19. A team from the shrimp farming sector and representatives of the Shrimp Exporters Association were participated for this discussion.

The main objective of this meeting was to make appropriate decisions regarding the problems of marketing the production obtained from the continuous farming activities carried out during the Covid 19 condition. Accordingly, it was decided to issue 25% of the vannamei shrimp production to the local market, until the temporary problems of exportation caused by Covid19 weresolved.
