Technical forum on Inland Fisheries and Aquaculture - Anuradhapura

Technical forum on Inland Fisheries and Aquaculture was held on 14^th July 2019 at Central College, Anuradhapura. The Forum was graced by Hon. P. Harrison, Minister of Agriculture, Livestock Development, Irrigation and Fisheries and Aquatic Resources Development with the participation of Mr. N.P. Madawan Arachchi, Chairman NAQDA, Mr. Nimal Chandraratne, Director General NAQDA, staff of NAQDA, other distinguish invitees of representing different institutions and 1200 Inland Fishers and Aquaculture Farmers from Anuradhapura District.   

Five Technical lectures were conducted to aware the Fishers and Farmers and also 50 Nos. of Canoes and 500 Nos. of nets were distributed among the Inland Fishers.

At this technical forum, Inland Fisheries and Aquaculture sector was evaluated and certificates were awarded to the Best Inland Fisherman in Anuradhapura district, the best Rural Fisheries Organization Anuradhapura district and the best water based fish seed production cage and fry-fingerling rearing pond in Anuradhapura district.
